FSU basketball has now had a first round NBA Draft pick in three of the last four seasons. Mfiondu Kabengele and Terrance Mann will play for the LA Clippers.
FSU basketball standout Mfiondu Kabengele saw his dream of playing in the NBA come true Thursday night when he was selected No. 27 overall by the Brooklyn Nets.
His rights were traded to the Los Angeles Clippers who then selected his teammate Terrance Mann with the No. 48 overall pick in the second round.
Kabengele is FSU’s 13th first round NBA draft pick in school history and did so without starting a single game in 2018-19.
The ACC’s Sixth Man of the Year moved up in draft projections as did Terrance Mann after workouts with NBA teams.

A message from our man @terance_mann at the @NBADraft! pic.twitter.com/6DwArKx4uT
The Clippers got two value picks with those two players and I’m not saying that just because they are FSU basketball players.
Both players are two-way players that can get it done on both sides of the floor. Kabengele averaged 13.2 ppg while only averaging 21.6 minutes per game.
Mann was the team’s second leading scorer with 11.4 ppg and was also the team’s best rebounder with 6.5 rpg.
Another impressive feat is both players shot 50 percent from the floor and shot free throws over a 76 percent clip.
Both players are winners with Terrance Mann part of the winningest senior class in school history with 98 victories.
The Clippers (48-34) finished as the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference and were bounced by the Golden State Warriors in the first round four games to two. It appears the Clippers have a good shot at landing NBA Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard in the offseason.
If that were to happen the two former Noles would be on a team that instantly would become one of the favorites to contend for an NBA Title.
Congrats to Mfiondu and Terrance on their outstanding accomplishment and representing FSU basketball.
