FSU football has had one of the toughest schedules in the nation the past few years. The 2019 schedule is shaping up to be much favorable.

FSU football coach Willie Taggart was asked by our own Jason Parker if the 2019 schedule was easier at a Seminole Booster event in Miami.

Coach Taggart answered the Noles play a lot of the same teams, and that he didn’t think it was right to say the schedule was easier before the games were played.

That’s a fair and smart answer. However, we know that teams changed every year with players getting drafted or graduating.

Some teams get better while others regress and some teams are placed on the schedule with easier or tougher opponents.

I know most folk believe preseason polls are fairly useless and I’m one of them. However, it does give us something to talk about the offseason.

One website agrees the Noles have an easier schedule. In fact, the ‘Noles schedule didn’t even make their list of top 25 toughest schedules.

Boston College was the only ACC team to make the list. You may ask where was Clemson right?

Well, it’s further proof teams don’t need to play a murderer’s row schedule to make the college football playoff.

I’ve been saying that for years. FSU football has been shooting itself in the foot playing all these tough games.

The Noles will be betting favorites in at least six of their games with another four as pick’ems. The only games they’ll definitely be underdogs are Clemson and Florida.

The Boise State game will set the tone for the season. An impressive win there and the Noles likely become betting favorites in those pick’em games.

That wasn’t the case last season as the Noles were definitive underdogs in five games. They were double-digit underdogs against Clemson and Notre Dame.

Clemson is likely the only team they’ll be double digit underdogs against in 2019 barring a major injury.
