FSU football has done a great job of recruiting quality linebackers during the 2020 recruiting cycle. One quality linebacker is still feeling the Noles.

FSU football has three quality linebackers committed for the 2020 recruiting cycle. They’re likely full at that position but would likely accept another commitment from a quality player.

Four-star linebacker Phillip Webb is the No. 40 ranked player overall and No. 3 outside linebacker in the nation.

He’s also considered the No. 6 player overall in the state of Georgia. FSU currently has 12 commitments with 11 of them hailing from Florida.

The other lone commit hails from Georgia which has been a stronghold for FSU football recruiting over the years.

Webb announced a list of top schools that he’ll be concentrating on moving forward with FSU making the list:

Webb is 6’4 210 pounds with 43 offers from all the top schools in the country. Clemson (of course) holds the 247 crystal ball lead with 100 percent of the predictions (two votes).

The Noles are also battling the likes of those other 10 schools he mentioned. Webb has visited the Noles once this spring in early April followed by a visit to Florida the next day.

As always you’ll have to follow the visits on this one and he’s visited Alabama twice since being offered in February.

Clemson offered in November while he was on a visit there but Florida, LSU and Auburn all offered in August-September 2018.  He’s visited Tennessee and Alabama most recently.

It’s going to be an uphill battle with the likes of Clemson and Alabama in the mix. The Noles offered him in January.

Logistically, his hometown of Buford, Georgia, is almost directly north of Tallahassee. A five hr drive down I-75, but Clemson is just a quick hour and 45 minute drive north-east to Clemson.

The Tigers also only have two linebacker commits for its 2020 recruiting class. We’ll see how it unfolds but it’s also good to be in the mix after a 5-7 season I suppose.
