FSU football saw just one named listed in the first team for Athlon Magazine’s preseason predictions while some other schools got a mind boggling amount.

For fans of the FSU football team and the other 129 FBS teams out there across the country, the clock has officially hit under three months until we watch the season kick off – which means just three months of nothing but predictions and projections for all the loyal college football fans out there!

Okay, maybe we’re a little bit more excited than most fans of the Seminoles out there, but plenty of publications and websites out there have begun to release what they think is going to take place during the 2019 season – from what teams will play for the title to what players will be the best in their conferences this year.

It’s that second part that might bother some FSU football fans out there as one of the top magazines out there recently released their All-ACC teams for the preseason – and gave the Seminoles a pretty open handed slap to the face with what they think about the talent on the roster before the season as started.

Athlon Sports Magazine put out their list earlier this week and had literally one Seminole player – JUST ONE PLAYER – listed on the first team roster for the upcoming season.

"1st Team – DL Marvin Wilson2nd Team – RB Cam Akers, WR Tamorrion Terry3rd Team – S Jaiden Lars-Woodbey, PR D.J. Matthews4th Team – DE Josh Kaindoh, LB Dontavious Jackson"

Overall, FSU football finished right in the middle of the conference with eight of the 108 overall players listed – well behind teams like Clemson (14 players) and just two players ahead of being the 12th best squad out of a 14 team conference that currently makes up the ACC.

Now, call me crazy, but isn’t the FSU football team supposed to have some of the best athletes in the country on it? Yes, I know the Seminoles are coming off the first losing season in over four decades, but with players like Akers and Terry and others on offense alone this is supposed to be a team that is going to get the Seminoles back.

Take the quarterback spot, for example, as FSU football puts James Blackman back into the starting spot at this point – aside from Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence being the best in the ACC right now, wouldn’t you rather have Blackman starting under center as opposed to the other three joining Lawrence (UVA’s Bryce Perkins, Syracuse’s Tommy DeVito and Va. Tech’s Ryan Willis).

Website ranks James Blackman No. 5 QB in ACC. light. Related Story

I get that plenty of the hesitation from some critics will have to do with what took place in 2018 – but for the 2019 season, this was a slap in the face for the FSU football team.
