FSU football has been doing well in the recruiting world recently, but they also need to jump out in front of things going on down the road in Gainesville.

It has been a good time to be part of the FSU football family in recent weeks – with the recent announcement that four star wide receiver Malachi Wideman was committing to the Seminoles and the news that the Noles jumped over the rival Florida Gators when it comes to the ranking of their classes for the 2020 signing days.

While things have been going great for the Seminoles, they haven’t been doing well down the road for those orange and blue fans as they have seen several top commits from the 2020 and 2021 classes take back their verbals while also seeing the top player from their 2019 class, defensive back Chris Steele, enter the transfer portal.

The recent news about Steele has been the indication that it is time for FSU football to take advantage of the recent issues down in Gainesville and stomp the Gators in the recruiting world.

When it comes to the way things have gone on the field, the Seminoles have plenty of bragging rights across the Sunshine State – with a combined record of 16-4 against the four teams from the state of Florida that includes seven wins in nine games against the Gators.

Off the field, the recruiting issues have been there in the last two classes under head coach Willie Taggart. But, with the way things are looking for #Tribe20, the Seminoles could be in a position to not just win the state of Florida’s battles for the top players but maybe even take the entire country.

Now, that might be thinking ahead of the game considering the distance between the Seminoles and the number four class in the 2020 recruiting cycle – as FSU football is sitting over 20 points behind another rival, the Miami Hurricanes, for that spot according to 247 Sports – but with this much time left, anything is possible.

With five of the top 15 recruits from the Sunshine State still having not given a verbal commitment yet, this is where FSU football must shine: the Seminoles need to at least get more than both the Gators and Hurricanes to once again run the state of Florida.

If that can take place, FSU football is going to be on one heck of a positive stretch toward making sure that #Tribe20 again is the top class in the state of Florida – and the rivals from both Gainesville as well as Coral Gables are looking up at the Noles from this point on.
