Meets Need

FSU football needed three or four linebackers in this class and McCluster becomes the third commitment for the position.

Most importantly he’s the second blue chip linebacker committed and three-star commit Stephen Dix Jr. should be rated as a blue chip linebacker as well.

The Noles have been thin at this position for years with multiple signees never becoming productive or no longer with the program.

FSU linebacker’s coach Raymond Woodie has done a great job of bringing in quality players that can be developed and make an impact at the position.

FSU could sign one more linebacker in this class if he’s elite. If not, they don’t need to reach for another player here since they signed three linebackers in the last recruiting cycle unless they expect more attrition than normal at the position.

There’s certainly going to be a lot of competition among linebackers to get on the field in the coming years. However, FSU playing more 3-4 defense could allow playing time to open up easier.
