Former FSU football star Brian Burns knows he is going to hear his named called in just a few days and he is waiting for the moment to hit him.

In less than a week, former FSU football star Brian Burns will become not just a very rich man but will more importantly become a professional football player when he hears his named called during one of the first few rounds – if not the first round – of the 2019 NFL Draft that takes place starting Thursday in Nashville.

While there was a thought that Burns wouldn’t hear his name until maybe the second round after he announced that he was forgoing his final season with the Seminoles, that notion is pretty much gone as he has vaulted up mock drafts and player boards thanks to a monster combine and pro day.

Now, Burns is all but assured that his name will at least be one of the first 32 called this week and as such he will be in Tennessee to walk up on the stage so he can grab the hat for whichever team picks the former FSU football defensive threat.

This past week, Burns was on the set of the NFL Network and took part in several shows – include Total Access, where he told host Lindsay Rhodes that he hasn’t quite thought about the moment where commissioner Roger Goodell says his name.

With some mock drafts having Burns being selected as one of the top 10 picks, FSU football fans might not have to wait all that long to hear where the next great product to come from the school into the NFL is going to be playing starting next fall.

In reality, it doesn’t matter which team picks him (well, as a Baltimore Ravens fan I don’t want him in Pittsburgh, Cleveland or Cincinnati but other than that I’m good) because whoever does make the right call is not just going to get a great player, but a truly humble person and someone who has represented the Seminoles the way you alway want someone to.
