Former FSU running back James Wilder Jr. has had success on the football field since leaving Tallahassee. Could a different type of success be on the horizon?

James Wilder Jr. has had success everywhere he’s gone. He was the No. overall recruit in high school at one point.

He won two ACC titles and a national title while at FSU and won the CFL equivalent of a Super Bowl by winning the Grey Cup with the Toronto Argonauts.

Wilder Jr. was the CFL Rookie of the Year in 2017 and has always been a freak of an athlete with a physique that looks like it has been sculpted from clay.

Realizing football won’t last forever it looks as though James Wilder Jr. is parlaying football with an opportunity to become a professional wrestler.

That’s great because Wilder Jr. is still owed money by the Toronto Argonauts.

The WWE shouldn’t take James Wilder Jr. lightly as the FSU football fan base is behind him 100 percent.

Thoughts

I can’t lie, I haven’t watching professional wrestling at all since around 1999-2000. I’d probably check in to see James Wilder Jr. should he be able to make the big show.

As folk mentioned on social media, Wilder Jr. could follow in the steps of FSU football legend and WWE Hall of Famer Ron Simmons.

I’m all for FSU players using their abilities to create other streams of income since football can’t last forever.

It’s great to see James Wilder Jr. thriving even though his dream of playing in the NFL like his father hasn’t come to fruition.
