FSU Football already has a top quarterback in the group for #Tribe20, but the Jacksonville native is doing more than just cheerleading for the Seminoles.

One of the biggest things that has been talked about with the last two classes for FSU football has been the fact that the Seminoles have not been able to sign a quarterback in either group – a series of events that has included losing commitments to other schools and not being able to bring in some uncommitted blue chip players.

For the 2020 class the Seminoles look to bring in, it appears that head coach Willie Taggart might not just have a quarterback of the future for the Noles but also might have a new recruiting coordinator as Jeff Sims is trying to get others to join him in Tallahassee for the near future.

The four star recruit from the Jacksonville area has been a hard commit to FSU football since February and has not just been resting on the glory of getting an offer from the Seminoles – he has been active during various camps in working hard on other recruits that may still be looking at the Noles.

This past weekend, he was in Tallahassee for the annual garnet and gold spring game and took the chance to speak with other recruits that were in town – including one interaction with three star offensive lineman Tate Johnson from the state of Georgia that was captured on camera by Jacksonville’s CBS affiliate WJAX-TV.

Now, while some FSU football fans are understandably cautious about getting excited that a top flight quarterback recruit is “all in” on the Seminoles (see Sam Howell as a recent example), the interaction from Sims as well as the way he has talked up the program at camps and on social media doesn’t seem like someone who will shop around.

Could things change between now and early signing day this December? Of course they can. Does it seem like that is going to be the case with Sims? Probably not.

That is the loyalty that the Seminoles and Taggart are going to need for the program to turn things around after the first losing season in decades – FSU football needs players who want to be in the garnet and gold and will do what it takes to get the program back to the championship level that it has been at in the past.

When Sims arrives on campus, he will be a part of a quarterback room that could have James Blackman as a redshirt junior, Jordan Travis as a redshirt sophomore (no matter what takes place with his eligibility next year) and Nolan McDonald as a redshirt sophomore as well – meaning he won’t have the pressure of having to start right away and can learn.

The sky seems to be the limit for Sims with the Seminoles, but he seems ready to shoot for the stars when it comes to his future in Tallahassee.
