QB Situation Looks Promising

I already know what James Blackman brings to the table. In fact, I said he should have been the starter before the 2018 season.

The fact he didn’t get to play more after what became a disaster season is still a mystery to me. Nevertheless, he can be a player in the Kendal Briles offense as evident by the stats he put up in the spring game.

I know, I know. It’s a spring game but he did throw for over 400 yards against NC State and it was the best the FSU offense looked all season. He looks to have a solid grasp of what Briles wants to do offensively.

The tempo was much more smooth in the spring game and there were hardly any penalties when it came to substitutions or alignment.

Transfer Jordan Travis opened a lot of folks eyes with his spring game performance. He’s still awaiting a decision on his waiver from the NCAA, but he looks to be a serviceable backup at the very least should he be eligible to play in 2019.

The Noles will also have former Wisconsin quarterback Alex Hornibrook coming this summer for added depth and competition.
