FSU Football: Top 5 takeaways from spring camp 2019

Coaching Changes Have Been An Upgrade
There’s no question the additions of Kendal Briles, Randy Clements and Ron Dugans have been upgrades.
The offense under the full direction of Briles with Clements being extremely familiar with what he wants is already paying off.
The offense ran over 100 plays in the spring game and I think we can count on one and the number of procedure penalties.
Also, for the first time in a while wide receivers seemed to be able to get open and actually get yards after the catch. That’s a by-product of the Briles offense being executed to get those players in space.
It should be noted the wide receivers blocked well for the most part which is something receivers coached by Ron Dugans are known for. I can only think of one time where I thought D.J. Matthews didn’t go all out in blocking on a screen call.
The real question is why was a 160 wide receiver in that spot to try to block anyways? We’ll talk about this later, but these three coaches have been great additions on the recruiting trails too which should pay dividends later in the recruiting cycle as relationships continue to be built.
