FSU football has nearly completed its first week of spring practice. I look at three key observations from the week and its impact moving forward.

FSU football started spring practice Monday so it finally gave us something tangible to talk about. Granted, there’s not much to gleam from players getting reps in shirts and shorts, it’ll still better than nothing I suppose.

The feeling surrounding spring practice is much different from last year. I think last year was filled with crazy hype and expectations based on a few things.

The Noles had rattled off four consecutive wins including the bowl game with the offense looking decent towards the end of the 2017.

However, I don’t think we accounted for how difficult it would be to piece mill the offense. Willie Taggart was not able to hire his No. 1 option for offensive coordinator.

He hired Walt Bell who had limited experience while not giving him full control of the offense or playcalling.

I’m not making excuses, but I have to imagine trying to coordinate an offense and learn what Willie Taggart wanted to do on the fly was no easy task.

However, I think hiring a proven offensive coordinator like Kendal Briles and the offensive line coach he wanted in Randy Clements has set FSU football up to rebound offensively in 2019.

Let’s take a look my three observations from week one of spring practice.
