Anthony Grant

FSU football had one of the most deep and talented backfields in the country last season.

However, it was overshadowed by an inept offensive line and a season ending injury to Khalan Laborn.

Senior Jacques Patrick has exhausted eligibility and Laborn is still working his way back from the injury. Amir Rasul has entered the transfer portal and emergency running back Zaquandre White transferred to a community college.

That leaves Cam Akers and Anthony Grant to carry the load until Laborn can get to 100 percent. Grant was a late addition to the 2018 class who saw action in all 12 games last season primarily at kick returner.

He did have five carries last season but I think it’s safe to say he’ll have an increased workload in the Kendal Briles’ offense.

I expect the Noles to run the ball around 60 percent of the time, so there should be plenty of carries to go around especially early in the season.

The staff was high on Grant last season so it’s only right he’ll be in a position to shine in 2019.
