FSU football can’t get much worse than what took place last season, and one prominent site is already saying thing will be better this coming season.

If you are a fan of the FSU football team, you are probably getting sick and tired of all the talk that reminds people about how bad things were for the Seminoles last year – the first losing season in over four decades along with not going to a bowl game for the first time in over three and a half decades can get really annoying.

Well, buckle up because we still have just under seven months before the 2019 season officially begins and the Noles take on Boise State to be able to look at 2018 in the rearview mirror. Until that time, the reminders will be there about the first season under head coach Willie Taggart.

But it isn’t always a bad thing to think about. I mean, let us all be honest with each other: at this point, it can’t get much worse than seeing all of those historical moments being brought back to nothing because now there is nowhere to go but up.

That is precisely what one website seems to think is going to take place in the upcoming season. Sports Illustrated recently put FSU football on their list of programs that will be in a prime position to bounce back next year.

"A porous 2017 offensive line did not get any better with age, and have allowed 30 or more sacks in each of the past three seasons. New offensive coordinator Kendal Briles should have the unit moving faster, mitigating the risks…Florida State’s motto is “Do Something”, and if Willie Taggart’s second team doesn’t live up to that mantra and at least take a competitive step forward in a conference and division currently dominated by Clemson, he could be on shaky ground entering 2020."

As we have written countless times before, the FSU football team had plenty of problems last year that carried over from the previous administration that was not helped by the constant hype in the preseason leading up to the first campaign by Taggart.

In 2019, the Seminoles will have gotten that honeymoon period out of the way to focus on the field – while also playing a schedule that has plenty of good teams (Clemson, Florida, Miami) but is nowhere near as rough as what the Noles had to deal with last year.

With all that is ahead of them, there is plenty of optimism that what took place last season for FSU football was a once in an every four decade thing.
