FSU basketball needed to get a win against a Boston College team they were supposed to beat and it didn’t happen.

No. 11 FSU basketball (13-5, 1-4 ACC) blew a 10 point halftime lead and fell to lowly Boston College (10-7, 1-4 ACC) on the road 87-82.

The title of this piece basically tells you all you need to know about what happened in the game.

Boston College made 13 of 21 three-point attempts (62 percent) to grab their first conference win of the season.

They also went to the free throw line and made 20 of 28 free throws and had 16 assists on 27 shots made.

Both teams were 5 of 11 from three-point range at halftime, but it was the Eagles who continued to bomb away in the second half as they made 8 of 10 to put the Noles away.

FSU was down 14 points late in the second half but managed to cut the lead to four with :51 seconds remaining. However, a three pointer from Wynston Tabbs effectively put the Noles away for good.

Boston College was led by Kyle Bowman’s 37 points and nine rebounds. He was six of eight from three-point range.

FSU was led by Mfiondu Kabengele’s 26 points and nine rebounds. Terrance Mann and M.J. Walker scored 14 and 12 points respectively.

FSU’s shooting woes continue to dog them as they shot just 41.8 percent from the floor and have yet to shooting higher than 42 percent overall in conference play.

Boston College shot 49.1 percent from the floor, was +1 in the rebound department and got to the free throw line more than the Noles.

The Noles finally had a game where they didn’t have a double-digit amount of turnovers (9), but just couldn’t overcome the hot shooting of the Eagles.

This is a terrible loss for the Noles as it was a game they were supposed to win. They were without Phil Cofer due to a foot injury, but that’s no excuse as they played without him in a number of games early in the season.

Next. FSU Basketball Must Accept and Play With Higher Expectations. dark

They’ll host Clemson Tuesday night at 7 p.m. ET at the Tuck Center with the game airing on ESPNU.
