FSU football will be well represented in the coming weeks in several all-star games allowing seniors one final chance to play before the NFL Draft.

For all intensive purposes, the FSU football season was a failure for a variety of reasons in 2018 – beyond just the record and the streaks that were broken, but also the stats and failures of several units of the team to shine and allow players to put together some resume film to get them ready for the next level.

In the coming days and weeks, some of those players are going to get a chance to hit the field one final time with that iconic spear on the side of their helmet – with several all-star games taking place or having already been played that have several Seminoles players on their rosters.

The action started last weekend with the fourth annual Tropical Bowl taking place in Daytona Beach – a game that feature former FSU football offensive lineman Arthur Williams and defensive tackle Frederick Jones, who had one tackle as the National team lost 24-16 to the American roster.

This coming weekend, former Noles center Alec Eberle will be back in the Sunshine State to take part in the annual East West Shrine Game being played inside Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. Eberle was one of the leaders of the offensive line that was much maligned the past few seasons for questionable play to say the least.

Talking to the Tampa Bay Times, Eberle says he sees things turning around quickly for the Seminoles under head coach Willie Taggart while acknowledging that some of his teammates may have taken things for granted.

"“I think that a lot of guys just lost their drive. I think Florida State’s been based off of guys who are gritty, who want to really push themselves and really work.”“I think Coach Taggart’s going to push those guys. I’m looking forward to it. I think they’re really going to set the bar high for next year.”"

Of course, the biggest game of the all-star circuit is the traditional Senior Bowl being played in Mobile, Alabama – and FSU football will have a representative at the game after Demarcus Christmas was named as a replacement this past weekend, meaning he is beading to Mobile, Alabama for next Saturday’s game.

The Seminoles actually have plenty to be happy about considering they don’t have dozens of seniors leaving the team after the 2018 season – meaning that the players can build off last year’s disappointment and make 2019 the year of the comeback for the Seminoles.
