FSU Recruiting: Fans react to Kayvon Thibodeaux choosing Oregon
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU recruiting was looking to land consensus top five recruit Kayvon Thibodeaux to help replace the departure of Brian Burns who declared for NFL Draft.
FSU recruiting was in the mix for the No. 2 consensus player in the 2019 recruiting class. However, Kayvon Thibodeaux will be staying on the west coast and attending Oregon.
Thibodeaux chose the Ducks over the likes of FSU, Alabama, Florida and USC. Thibodeaux visited FSU a number of times in 2018, including the season opener against Virginia Tech.
Ultimately, the thought of traveling across country may have been too much as he choose to stay on the west coast instead of committing to FSU, Alabama or Florida.

Classy responses from those FSU football fans. I think FSU recruiting definitely had a shot at landing Thibodeaux with Brian Burns being the blueprint as to what he could be.
He had visited multiple times with the chance to play early, not to mention a HBCU in FAMU nearby that he certainly seemed to enjoy.
At the end of the day it’s difficult to get kids from across the country to commit. However, he’s the type of player worth the risk when it comes to using resources and those visits could play dividends down the road since he enjoyed his time in Tallahassee.
FSU has a few defensive ends in its 2019 recruiting class in four-star Curtis Fann, Derick Hunter and three-star Derrick McLendon.
However, Thibodeaux had the potential to be an impact player in his freshman year and is a player the Noles could have used to gain huge momentum in the 2019 recruiting class.
