FSU football has been the school of choice for offensive line recruit Dontae Lucas, but the fact he still is listing other schools has some worried.

By now, the secret is out that one of the main reasons why the FSU football team had their first losing season in over four decades this year was in part because of an offensive line that couldn’t block a high school team at points during the season – and it’s a unit that head coach Willie Taggart plans to address with the #Tribe19 class.

Currently, the Seminoles have just one lineman committed to the program as part of that class. Four star recruit Dontae Lucas, currently ranked by 247 Sports as the sixth best offensive guard in the country and the 16th best player in the state of Florida, has been committed to the Noles since last April’s spring game.

While many across the country feel that Lucas is all but certain to be a FSU football signee come December 19th, the 6’3″ and 323 lbs. prospect who shined at Miami’s Booker T. Washington High School before moving on to the IMG Academy, will have two other hats on the table when he makes that announcement in his hometown.

Now, it could be a case of Lucas just wanted to add a little suspense to the whole day – or is there a chance that he could seriously be considering either the Gators or the Canes and flip from the Seminoles at a time they could least afford it.

Fans of all three programs threw in their two cents on the matter with each one pitching their case for Lucas to come to their program.

Lucas has spent the last two weekends taking his official visits to both Miami and Florida and will be with the FSU football team this coming weekend for his final visit before signing day – giving the Seminoles the final chance to get the noise out of his ears from Coral Gables and Gainesville and remind him why he committed to the Seminoles in the first place.

In all honesty, this might be the biggest player the Noles could sign in this class. With all the issues on the line last season, it is area No. 1 when it comes to importance for this recruiting class. Hot garbage would be the appropriate term for what FSU football put out there at points last season and it needs help.

Personally, I think Lucas does end up sticking with FSU football and will be in Tallahassee this spring – but until the ink is dry, there is always going to be reason for concern.
