Well the disappointing 2018 FSU football season is done and over with but the attention has been turned to what players can become part of Tribe 19.

One thing we knew about FSU football head coach Willie Taggart coming into this past season was that he is a supposedly an elite recruiter. FSU is sitting at No. 14 in the nation according to 247 Sports when it comes to the 2019 class.

While it’s not an elite level, it’s important that Taggart has kept most of the class together even through this nightmare of a season that ended last weekend. There is still work to be done to make this class of expectations, but here’s three players FSU fans should keep an eye.

Player FSU Football Wants

5 Star WR George Pickens

George Pickens is an Alabama native and current Auburn commit. Many feel that he and Georgia native Jadon Haselwood are the top two wideouts in the nation, without much separation between the two.

Pickens is a big wideout at 6’5, 200 lbs. and he’s able to out muscle and out jump most defenders. FSU football has slowly but surely making progress in his recruitment and with all the possible turmoil in Auburn, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him jump ship. This would be a big time get for the ‘Noles and he would be a day one contributor.

Player FSU Football Needs

3 Star OT Dawand Jones

Yes, I know these are basketball highlights but this is exactly what FSU fans need to see from an offensive line prospect. Evan Neal is popular choice for most fans and rightfully so, as he is one of the best prospects in the nation.

However, realistically speaking it’s a long shot and that is why the Seminoles need Dawand Jones. Jones is a very good prospect who may be able to come in and play right away due to his size and fluidity. He is just as polished as Neal, just may lack the strength Neal has right now.

That’s something the weight room can fix quickly. FSU football recently offered and it looks like Jones has a real interest. FSU and Michigan both seem like the top two teams in his recruitment and we will finally be able to evaluate offensive line coach Greg Frey’s recruiting skills, especially after losing Charles Cross.

Player FSU Football Should Look At

2 Star Athlete Tahveon Nicholson

Not rated high on recruiting websites, Tahveon Nicholson is a bit under the radar. He currently is committed to Southern Miss and holds offers from other group of five schools such as Middle Tennessee State and Troy.

He is a player who’s recruitment I can see getting attention after early signing day when teams are doubling back on players they missed out on. Tahveon can play corner or receiver as overall he just is a great football player.

Next. Willie Taggart should not be on hot seat after losing season. dark

One of the best players I’ve seen live almost on par with current FSU WR DJ Matthews. FSU is likely to lose Renardo Green to Ohio State and this would be a great player to take his spot in the class. ‘Taz’ is a special type of player and has the talent to contribute at a high level wherever he goes.
