After a open to the season that was beyond disappointing for the FSU football team, the end of the regular season was not much different as the Seminoles were blown out at home by a ranked team – ending a streak of winning seasons and bowl game appearances that had lasted for longer than a decent percentage of the people reading this article have been alive.
Indeed, the loss to hated rival Florida on Saturday was hurtful beyond just the fact that it was the first time losing to the Gators since 2012 and the first time losing to both rivals in the same season since 2009 – it signaled a true end to the era of FSU football being a consistent winner that was always going to be playing for bowl and championship titles each season.
Now, the Seminoles must take a good, hard look at themselves and see what needs to be done – and who needs to be replaced – to turn this thing around and start a new era of winning in Tallahassee.
