FSU football will not be going to a bowl for the first time in 36 consecutive years and will not have a winning season for the first time in 41 years.

FSU football had the worst thing imaginable happen Saturday against the Florida Gators. They had their bowl streak and winning season snapped while also losing to the Gators for the first time since 2012.

It was typical FSU football in 2018. The offense was inept early as the defense tried to keep the game close.

Poor field position and penalties were the norm and turnovers came right on cue from Deondre Francois in the second half en route to another blowout loss.

Former players and fans are not happy in the least bit and sounded off on social media.

Thoughts

Mr. Simon is spot on with his analysis about roster management. There is a lot of dead weight on this FSU football roster and it has to be trimmed.

Willie Taggart has to identify who wants to be there from the previous regime and who doesn’t. If there’s a mass exodus, so be it as that will allow the Noles to take bigger recruiting classes in the next couple of years.

Coach Taggart and staff brought in a lot of players with the right attitude last season and seem to have a number of players that want to come and help FSU football get back on track in the 2019 class.

It’s all  about accountability and that starts with Willie Taggart, his decisions in regards to player personnel AND the coaching staff.

It’s gonna be interesting to see what happens in the coming months. There most assuredly has to be a change when it comes to special teams coaching.

They were atrocious all season and continued to be abysmal in the 12 and final game of the year. It’s a sad day to loss to the Florida Gators and all that came with the loss, but this program doesn’t have anywhere to go but up from here.
