FSU football will face a physical and gritty football team in Boston College, something they have struggled all year with.

After getting absolutely throttled yet again last weekend, FSU football is looking to bounce back against a very good Eagles team that still has hopes of a 10 win season. It’ll be interesting to see if FSU can bounce back after getting humiliated last weekend against ND.

If the Seminoles want to avoid their first losing season since 1976, there are several key thing that must be done.

No. 1 – Stop Boston College RB AJ Dillon

Dillion is one of the best backs in college football when at full health. The 6’3, 250 lbs. running back is a force, plowing his way through defenders as he almost never seems to get dropped for negative yardage.

To be so big you would think he’s only a bruiser but time and time again Dillon has showed tremendous agility breaking off 20+ yard runs all season long. If the ‘Noles cannot find some heart this will be a very long game – perhaps as long as the ND game.

No. 2 – Force Boston College to pass

Coach Steve Adazzio runs his offense through Dillon and QB Anthony Brown. With Brown most likely out due to a concussion he most likely suffered vs Clemson, the ‘Noles best shot is to sell out for the run and make back up quarterback EJ Perry sling it.

Perry struggled against Clemson and did not look comfortable at all. FSU football can rattle the young QB early and gain some positive momentum. Hopefully, defensive coordinator Harlon Barnett can scheme to fluster the inexperienced signal caller.

No. 3 – FSU football must pass to set up the run

Obviously FSU football has been trying to run to set up the pass but this hasn’t been working in their favor. FSU has found most of its success this season passing vertically and stretching the field. When you have guys like Tamorrion Terry, he should get at least one target every drive or until proven the defensive backs can stop him.

While offensive coordinator Walt Bell has done some good things like establishing under center packages in the I-formation, they need their identity to become a pass first offense right now until they prove they can run the ball efficiently.

Score Prediction

28-13 Boston College. As of right now, it’s hard to picture the Seminoles to do enough to win any game. Maybe I forgot what it’s like to win but this is another game where I think the offense becomes stagnant not able to move the ball and the defense has their hands full with BC’s offensive line and All ACC back in Dillon. Hopefully, they prove me wrong but I’m going with the Eagles here.
