Coming off an absolute embarrassment, it’s tough to project how FSU football will bounce back – will they come back upset and try to make a statement?

There are plenty of questions for the FSU football team about how they will show up against the NC State Wolfpack, including will some of the players quit if things look like they are not going their way much like it appeared they did last week.

If FSU football wants a shot there’s a couple things they have to do to avoid having a losing record in Raleigh since the 1998 season, where they have just a 5-5 record in their last 10 games inside the home of the Wolfpack. Here’s what matchups and factors the Seminoles have to win.

No. 1 – Coach Taggart has to weed out the bad seeds and motivate these kids

Taggart has been preaching about accountability since he’s got here, so it’s time to hold these guys accountable. Obviously, some FSU football players quit last week and they should get absolutely ZERO playing time against NC State.

You will not change the culture by not doing nothing about these antics that these players do and got away with during the last staff’s era. Taggart also has to motivate these kids. They got molly-whopped last week and obviously that damaged some confidence, it’s up to the coach to get these guy’s mojo up and running again.

No. 2 – Four words: Stop the short passes

FSU football has struggled with this all year and now they are playing a quarterback who might be the best in all of college football with the ‘dink and dunk’ offense. NC State’s Ryan Finley has a laser quick release and will “Alex Smith” a defense to death. If the Seminoles can stop the short pass, then they have a shot to win this thing.

No. 3 – James Blackman must start at quarterback

Look, I’ve tried to reason with Deondre Francois time and time again, but it’s clear that he’s either not grasping the offense fully or he’s just freelancing out there. Blackman is a guy who’s teammates absolutely love him and will go out and give 110 percent for him.

Rightfully so, as Blackman has proved time and time again that he a the epitome of a team player. At this point, it can’t hurt to try Blackman out and see what he has. While Blackman may not the talent that Francois is, It’s hard to imagine him having a worse grasp on the offense. Start Blackman and see what he can do.

I know I picked NC State earlier in the week ,but after giving it some thought, I really think FSU football is going to pull this off. 24-17 Seminoles.
