Conclusion

The Noles are  betting underdogs for just the second time this season. The betting line has been bet up to -9 and even -9.5 in some betting site after opening at less than a touchdown (-6.5).

It’s a game the Noles are talented enough to win. They had a shot to beat the Wolfpack last season with a suspect defense and a true freshman quarterback making his first career start.

That same QB (James Blackman) could be making his first start in 2018 with Deondre Francois coming up lame in the fourth quarter of the Clemson game.

It could be the shot in the arm this team needs as they have struggled mightily all season. Blackman also attacks the field vertically better than Francois and the NC State’s secondary is arguably its weakest spot in their defense.

However, won’t matter if the FSU defense can’t slow down this NC State offense. The Noles are quite capable as they shut down Clemson’s offense for a quarter before succumbing to a beatdown as a result of penalties, an offense that gave them no help and missed tackles.

Will the Noles surprise the oddsmakers and get another step closer to a bowl birth? Or will their confidence be shot after the beatdown against Clemson last week?
