Deondre Francois

Look, I’ve given Deondre Francois a lot of grief and deservedly so. However, I have to give credit where it’s due as he stepped up his level of play and became the No. 1 impact player we needed him to be Saturday.

He finished the game completing 73 percent of his passes for 353 yards and two touchdowns with more importantly NO turnovers.

In fact, his stats would have been even better had a long TD pass to Tamorrion Terry not get called back for offensive holding and Keith Gavin didn’t fumble a potential touchdown.

Nevertheless, Francois stood in good pocket provided to him by the offensive line and obliterated an overmatched Wake Forest defense that’s statistically one of the worst in the nation.

The ‘Noles offense averaged 6.9 yards per play which was two full yards over their season average. It was also the most points the offense had scored all season (38).

Francois is still missing a number of reads at the line of scrimmage in the RPO game, but the offense finally looks like they have an idea of what they’re trying to accomplish.
