Brian Burns

Brian Burns changed the Wake Forest game with the aforementioned fourth down sack that gave the Noles great field position and the opportunity to score a touchdown to get back into the game.

A first quarter 10-7 deficit sounds much better the 17-0 or even 13-0 deficit the Noles were almost assuredly facing had Wake Forest converted the play.

Burns finished the game with four total tackles and two sacks. His performance places him in the ‘Noles top 10 in sacks all time, tied for seventh with Alonzo Jackson, Andre Wadsworth and Everette Brown.

He’s almost doubled his sack total from last season and needs just five more tackles for loss to surpass his team leading total from 2017.

Burns is one of the few players that get a ton of hype in the preseason and matches and surpasses with his play on the field.

He had one of his biggest games against Clemson in 2017, and the Noles will need another one Saturday to put Trevor Lawrence in spots where he could make mistakes under pressure.
