FSU football makes top six for 2019 four star defensive end recruit

FSU football is actively putting together a solid class for Tribe19 and they are still in the running for one of the top ends in the state of Florida.

In recent seasons, the FSU football team has become the place to go if you are a defensive end that wants to make it to the next level. The Seminoles have averaged having one end picked in each of the last six NFL Drafts and will likely go for number seven this year as junior Brian Burns looks like he might be a first round pick before it’s said and done.

At the same time, the outlook for Tribe19 shows that the trend of stud defensive ends is going to continue as the Seminoles currently have four players at that position committed to the class – and that’s after Khris Bogle, a four star recruit from the Fort Lauderdale area, de-committed from the class earlier this season and Delray Beach’s Mike Morris went with Michigan.

Now, another four star recruit from the Sunshine State is keeping the Seminoles in the running for his services. On Friday, Lloyd Summerall III from Lakeland announced his six finalist for his college selection – and FSU football was right there along with two other rivals, two SEC west teams and one school that still hasn’t won a game this season.

It’s going to be an uphill battle for the Seminoles and all the rest of the team to chase the Florida Gators, who 247Sports says is a healthy favorite to land the services of this Dreadnaughts star with the Seminoles coming in second on the list at this point.

If FSU football is able to somehow land Summerall – and head coach Willie Taggart was quick to visit Lakeland when he took the job, in part because of his knowledge of the area – and is able to keep both Quashon Fuller and Derick Hunter from the Fort Myers area, the defensive end position is going to be just fine for years to come for the Seminoles.

The wild card in all of this could be Burns. If the former five star recruit from near Fort Lauderdale does decide to stay with the Seminoles for another season (something that seems like a  long shot considering he has seven sacks in the first half of the season), one of these big names might want to go somewhere where they can play as a freshman like Josh Kaindoh did last year.
