FSU football had the Miami Hurricanes on the ropes in the second half but couldn’t hold onto the lead. Players and fans react to the loss.

FSU football was on the verge of its biggest win of the season when they led the Miami Hurricanes 27-7 in the third quarter.

However, multiple self-inflicted wounds, a terrible call by the refs and Miami capitalizing on those opportunities saw that lead vanish in mere minutes.

It was a game FSU dominated for the most part. The FSU football defense was outstanding and got put in some tough spots by the FSU offense.

At the end of the day, it was a tough loss, but it was a game the Noles were supposed to lose as 14 point underdogs.

However, fans didn’t want to hear that as they wanted to blame any and everyone for the loss on social media:

FSU Players

I think the players know they gave it their all and came up short. The good news is they seem to have a good attitude about the loss and will have a bye week to get back into the swing of things.

Thoughts

It’s so weird how the fans responded to this loss. Those tweets are prime examples of the divide on the support for Willie Taggart.

I thought he coached the game fine and there wasn’t an issue with playcalling. Now, there were issues with execution decision makers by the players which he can’t control.

There’s no way Willie Taggart can help Deondre Francois not fumble when he got sacked. In fact, that was on Deondre Francois because FSU had a running back there to block which he did, but Francois didn’t account for the second rusher coming and sat there like sitting duck.

Willie Taggart can’t help Deondre Francois not throw an interception or the refs not calling pass interference on at least 3 passing plays I saw where Miami defensive backs were mugging FSU wide receivers.

FSU turned the ball over multiple times and it’s something we said couldn’t happen if they wanted to win the game. It’s that simple really. They played well enough to win, but once the momentum swung every FSU football fan knew it was just a matter of time.

They could never get the momentum back because the offense is so handicapped by the offensive line and poor decision-making by the quarterback.

However, progress is being made because they are looking more and more like a football team despite their limitations.
