Third Down Conversions

FSU football has been abysmal on third down conversions in 2018 mainly because it’s usually third down and forever.

The Noles are converting third downs at a paltry 29.73 percent. The flip side of that is Miami’s defense is allowing teams to convert third downs just 17 percent of the time.

We’ve talked about how Miami hasn’t beaten anyone of note this season, but their offense is converting third downs at a 48 percent clip.

The FSU defense is allowing teams to convert third downs at a 35 percent clip. This along with turnovers will likely be huge keys to this game.

If the Noles can limit Miami’s ability to convert third downs and create opportunities for manageable third downs they will be in this game no question as long as they don’t have multiple turnovers.
