FSU Football: Top 3 players of game against Northern Illinois
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football had some strong performances by a number of players against Northern Illinois. We take a look at the top 3 from the game.
The players with FSU football held a player’s only meeting this week in an effort to come together and hold one another accountable for playing better.
It looked like it worked as the Noles were noticeably more cohesive as a unit in all phases of the game early on.
We often saw the players celebrating together and players off the bench (James Blackman) running down to be a part of the action.
One thing that caught my eye was the emotion shown by Deondre Francois. Those of you that read this site know I questioned his ability to lead this team with the attitude displayed last season while injured and the off the field incidents.
However, I must say I was impressed with him Saturday. I watched him show emotion after Nyqwan Murray went up and made a play for him on a 50/50 ball.
At the same time I saw him chew Murray out on a play where Murray obviously didn’t play his assignment correctly which prevented a huge play from happening.
A lot of players played well, but I wanted to highlight our top three from the win over Northern Illinois.
