It’s probably safe to say that most FSU football fans didn’t expect the “Taggart Era” to start this way, but here we are – wondering if we can get a win.

Look, FSU football head coach Willie Taggart doesn’t take the all the blame here and I said after the Syracuse game that I would hold off judgment on him this year, simply because the offensive line he inherited from the coach in College Station is abysmal.

If you know football, you know that everything starts in the trenches. Before you guys panic and donate to those GoFundMe accounts, just give this man some time. With that being said, I fully expect the Seminoles to win today and here are some of match ups to watch.

FSU football offensive line vs NIU pass rusher Sutton Smith

With the Nick Bosa’s and Clelin Ferrell’s of the college football world, there’s another guy who deserves some recognition and that guy is NIU EDGE, Sutton Smith. Already totaling three sacks this season (averaging one per game) last year he accounted for 14 sacks and 30 tackle for losses!

While FSU football struggles with any teams best pass rusher…… or any pass rusher, they will have their hands full in this contest. The Seminoles’ tackles can’t do this alone so I expect a lot tight end chip blocking to slow this guy down.

FSU Football WR Tamorrion Terry vs any corner NIU has

Terry needs the ball more! He is hands down FSU football’s most talented receiver and barely gets any looks. When he does get the looks, it seems like it’s a big play every time. Francois needs to let whatever brotherly bond he has with Nyqwan Murray go in the locker room and just find the open man.

Too many times, he locks into Murray and forces him the ball. As I recall the last drive in the first half against Syracuse, he didn’t look to Terry’s side of the field once who was isolated with one on one coverage against a corner he had probably half a foot on. Francois has to get better at reading the field and getting this play maker the ball.

Score Prediction

24-6 . I believe FSU football’s offense will look far more competent than it has a showed the last three weeks. The defense will come to as always against an offense who’s statistically worse than the Seminoles (yeah, they’re that bad ).
