FSU Football: Top 10 bold predictions for 2018 season
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football will NOT have a 1,000 yard receiver in 2017
I know you’re sitting there like, you just said Deondre Francois wasn’t going to throw for 3,000 yards this season right? I did say that, and that’s one reason FSU will not have a 1,000 yard receiver.
The reason I say that is because of the wide receiver depth and their talent level. The ‘Noles will likely have three main receivers in Nyqwan Murray, Keith Gavin and Tamorrion Terry on the field.
However, the Noles will likely rotate a healthy number of receivers to stay fresh due to the number of plays they will average on offense.
Then there’s Tre McKitty filling in at the tight end slot. Then there’s the running backs who will get their share of receptions out of the backfield, so there will not be a ton of receptions to go around.
I think Deondre Francois will complete around 220 passes in 2018 with them consistently going to six or more receivers. That’s going to make it difficult for any one receiver to reach 1,000 yards unless one just becomes a go-to player and dominates.
