FSU Football: Players urge fans to ‘blackout’ for Virginia Tech game
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football players are excited about wearing the alternate uniforms for the 2018 season opener against Virginia Tech.
FSU football fans and uniform talk on social media seem to go hand-in-hand. It was one of hottest topics when Willie Taggart was named head coach in December.
It’s a popular topic for the players as well because they all want to look good and be able to switch up things at times when it comes to their uniforms.
There have been many suggestions and combinations thrown all over social media regarding what the Noles should do.
The players gave early indications that Coach Taggart was willing to loosen the strings a bit more than the previous regime and had an open mind regarding alternative uniform combinations.
We finally know which uniform the Noles will be rocking against Virginia Tech Monday night.
Now the FSU football players want fans to participate and “blackout” Doak Campbell Stadium by wearing all black to the game Monday night.
Thoughts
A lot of FSU fans are excited about the blackout idea, but other traditionalist seem to be making a big deal out of nothing.
Did you remember watching an unmotivated FSU football team for much of the 2017? I do.
Heck, whatever it takes to get those guys excited about playing I’m all for it. Yes, some of the uniform combinations may not be as great as the traditional uniforms.
However, as long as I see that spear and FSU on the uniform somewhere I’m good. My goodness, how hard is it to go buy a black t-shirt to support your favorite team?
The players don’t complain when the stadium isn’t at full capacity for a noon game against Wake Forest.
Let’s be supportive of our players’ wishes and bring in the 2018 season with a huge win over Virginia Tech!
