FSU football has a tough 2018 schedule as usual. Do they have the three toughest game stretch in the nation though?

FSU football has a lot of doubters going into the 2018 season despite having one of the most talented teams in the country.

Clemson was the unanimous choice to win the ACC and some folk think NC State will be sneaky good again despite losing a lot of talent from last year.

A lot of people are high on Notre Dame which isn’t unusual but I feel they have a lot of question marks going into 2018 too.

The ACC Digital Twitter account asked how would the Noles fare in the four-game stretch below.

I respect what Boston College was able to do against the Noles in 2017, but I’m betting that was an outlier and will not happen again. So I wanted to ask if the three game stretch before that was the toughest in the nation?

Clemson

The game is in Tallahassee but Clemson will likely be a team ranked in the top three in most preseason polls and went 12-2 last year.

NC State

NC State returns the best quarterback in the ACC with Ryan Finley and a group of talented receivers. However, they did lose a lot off their defensive line as well as two offensive studs in Jaylen Samuels and Nyheim Hines. The Wolfpack went 9-4 last year and this game will be played on the road

Notre Dame

The Fighting Irish lost defensive coordinator Mike Elko and have a limited quarterback in Brandon Wimbush. However, they went 10-3 last season and the game will be played in South Bend.

Thoughts

That’s a stretch against teams that went a combined 31-9 last season with two games being on the road in tough places to win. They’ll be facing the best defense in the nation, a QB that will likely play in the NFL and a talented Notre Dame team.

Usually teams will schedule an easier game between a Clemson and Notre Dame spot, but not the Noles as they like to punish themselves with crazy schedules.

Clemson does have to play FSU football and NC State back-to-back, but has a third game against Louisville who will not be as good with Lamar Jackson gone.

The only comparable three game stretch by any team is LSU who has to face Georgia, Mississippi State and Alabama. The only thing all three of those games are HOME games for LSU. How’d they manage that?

I think the Noles will go either 1-2 or 2-1 in this stretch against these three teams. How do you think they’ll fare?
