FSU Football: Recruits checking in at ‘Saturday Night Live’ event
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football is hosting arguably its biggest recruiting weekend in the Willie Taggart era with Saturday Night Live.
FSU football had some tremendous recruiting events that resulted in excellent recruiting classes in the Jimbo Fisher era.
However, I’m not sure he was able to do anything like the Saturday Night Live event Willie Taggart is conducting in Tallahassee Saturday.
Coach Taggart has some of the most elite players in the country on campus but that’s not the most impressive feat.
The fact the likes of Miami, Florida and other major Power Five universities are having events the very same weekend and these elite players are in Tallahassee says it all.
Not only that, it appears Coach Taggart’s relationship with rapper Plies has paid off and he’ll be coming to the event as well.
Check out some of the social media chatter:
That’s a coach throwing his weight around and understanding what this young recruits are impressed by.
Four-star FSU QB commit.
Four-star defensive end FSU commit.
No. 1 player in the nation five-star defensive end Noles target.
FSU fans are incredibly hyped on the Twitter timeline.
Three-star FSU DB commit.
Four-star defensive end FSU commit.
Four-star defensive end FSU target.
Thoughts
There are a ton of other blue chips from the class of 2019, 2020 and beyond on campus already and the event doesn’t officially start until 4 p.m. ET.
The coaches are hyped, the fans are hyped, the players are hyped and it’s looking to be a memorable event that could give the Noles huge momentum as the season opener looms just over a month away.
The Noles are expected to land two or more commitments this weekend to add to their list of 13 commits for 2019. It’s possible some 2020 recruits could make their decision to commit as well.
At the very least the event will be a success by getting so many elite players on campus to create new relationships and build on those already established.
Also, hearing rapper Plies was at the event will serve notice that FSU is moving different and intrigue others to visit campus as well.
