Former FSU football star trolls rivals using latest Drake hit song
By Jason Parker
FSU football has plenty of success of late against both the Gators and Hurricanes and one former quarterback got hip when reminding them of that.
A lot can be said about the last decade of FSU football – a time frame that includes a national title, three ACC crowns (and another appearance in a title game) to go along with countless awards and individual achievements from players and coaches over the span to go along with a couple seasons we would like to forget.
Another thing to be proud of if you are the Seminoles is a 15-5 overall record over the last 10 seasons against the two most hated teams on their annual schedule – the Miami Hurricanes (8-2) and the Florida Gators (7-3), which is without a doubt the best 20 game span in the history of the Noles.
It’s something that FSU football players, alumni and fans can throw in the faces of those wearing orange and blue or orange and green – and one former signal caller went next level with his troll game on the subject.
Danny Kanell, who hasn’t been known to be modest when it comes to his opinion, used one of the biggest songs in hip hop – Drake’s latest called “8 out of 10” – to go after both teams.
Oh, Danny…I see what you did there. Well played, sir. (As a sidenote, for those not hip to new music, the song is in essence the artist saying that no matter how much you hate on him, Drake is still going to get his money – a perfect response to those who hate on the Seminoles.)
Depending on who you ask in the FSU football family, beating the Canes and Gators each season is right up there with – well, I’d say it goes breathing, family, religion for some and then there is beating Florida and Miami…and some of those may be reversed in order for a few.

The Seminoles will look to extend their program record win streak against Florida as they go for a sixth straight victory this November while looking to rebound from having their seven game win streak against Miami broken last season.
