FSU football is getting no love from one website, who thinks the Seminoles will not make a drastic improvement from last season’s record.

Across the college football world, the general consensus is that the FSU football team will be a better one than the result of the 2017 season showed – while, at the same time, the general consensus is also that the Seminoles made someone mad at the ACC offices to get the schedule they do for the 2018 campaign.

Aside from the opener against Virginia Tech and a road game at Louisville in the first month, the Seminoles open October at Miami – who beat Florida State for the first time this decade last season – before a three game behemoth that involves Clemson and road games against N.C. State and Notre Dame.

While FSU football is hoping to rebound from a 7-6 finish last season, one website is not putting all their money on the idea that the Seminoles will be light years better. College Football News unveiled their game by game predictions for the 2018 season – and they like the Noles to drop four games during the regular season.

"Florida State will be a wee bit flaky late in the season. Having to go on the road for a few nasty games, and having to deal with Clemson – will be enough to keep the Noles outside of the top spot."

CFN has the Seminoles coming in second place in the Atlantic Division after, according to them, losing to Miami and the three game slate toward the end of the season. The site is pretty high on no one but the Tigers, who they have going 11-1 (and losing to Boston College) while having the Hurricanes winning the Coastal Division with a 9-3 record.

Now, personally I have said that a good season for FSU football would be to get at least three wins out of their five toughest games – the opener with Virginia Tech, Miami, Clemson, Notre Dame and the finale with Florida. If you add N.C. State to that group and the Seminoles can get four wins, it would be a major accomplishment.

FSU football hasn’t had back-to-back four or more loss seasons since they did it over a seven season span – the final five of the Bobby Bowden era and the first two of the last coach’s time – and has the talent to avoid that from happening now.

Next: Will Noles’ defense face any elite offenses in 2018?

Winning the opener against the Hokies is clutch because it sets the tone – along with the fact that I still don’t believe Miami is a better team right now than the Seminoles when you break down the roster. If the Noles can win those games and avoid any speed bumps against inferior foes, FSU football could easily be unbeaten going into the Clemson game.
