FSU Football: Several Noles get preseason All-ACC love by website
By Jason Parker
FSU football has plenty of talent it will be putting on the field this coming season, and one website says they have some of the top talent in the ACC.
One of the most disappointing things about what took place with the FSU football team during the 2017 season was that the talent on the field did not match the 7-6 record they ended the season with. While there were injuries and some players who underachieved, the Noles could put their talent up against many of the top teams in the standings last year.
While some of that talent is now in the NFL, there are plenty of returning starters and bonafide athletes for the Seminoles who will be on the field when they host Virginia Tech in the opener come Labor Day.
Even with just over two months to go before the season kicks off, FSU football payers are getting a lot of preseason love – with the latest coming from College Football News, who named three Seminole stars among the top 30 players in the ACC entering the 2018 season.
"No. 5 – Running Back Cam AkersNo. 14 – Defensive End Brian BurnsNo. 30 – Defensive Tackle Demarcus Christmas"
At the same time, there was a back handed compliment angle going on considering that only Akers was listed as a member of the all conference team by the website (along with kicker Ricky Aguayo) – with each defensive linemen finding themselves behind players from schools like Clemson (understandable) and Boston College (not so much) among others.
Also interesting is how certain players are missing from the list, such as cornerback Levonta Taylor – who was recently listed as one of the top 30 players in the entire country, not just the ACC. The FSU football star was listed behind players like Duke’s Mark Gilbert and Miami’s Michael Jackson, who the site listed as the first team players from the conference.
Next: Is Clemson a better coaching job than FSU?
In reality, none of it matters because the preseason hype doesn’t matter – what matters is these FSU football stars and all the others doing work on this field against the Hokies and the rest of the schedule they have in front of them.
