FSU Basketball: Top power conference foes Noles should schedule
By Jason Parker
Auburn Tigers
It boggles my mind that two schools who are less than 200 miles apart don’t play each other more often in some of the major sports – considering that FSU basketball and the Tigers have played over 30 times total, but just six of them have come in the last 25 seasons. With Auburn being one of the better SEC teams right now, this would be an impressive resume game.
Kentucky Wildcats
Again, it might almost be crazy to some to schedule tougher opponents in addition to the ACC schedule – but imagine getting this college basketball blue blood down to the Tucker Center for a game (since the previous eight games between the schools have all been in the NCAA Tournament, a neutral site or in Lexington.) Plus, it’s not like they are the same unbeatable program Big Blue once was.
South Carolina Gamecocks
These two teams know a lot about each other dating back to the time they were both in the Metro Conference, with 30 meetings combined. Just one year removed from the NCAA tournament, the Gamecocks are in that category of being just good enough to look good on the Noles resume, but still with Florida State in line to be the better team between the two.
