FSU football will get a big unofficial visit from Trey Sanders, a Florida native ranked as one of the top 10 players in the entire class.

If there is one thing to be said about new FSU football head coach Willie Taggart and his approach when it comes to recruiting for the Seminoles, it is that he and his staff aren’t going to give up without a fight. They may not get every player they want, but they are going to make an effort to get everyone to #DoSomething and become a Nole.

With the staff hard at work for the 2019 class even before the 2018 season has kicked off, the Seminoles are going to be preparing for a visit next week from someone who would be a major get for FSU football – and he’s from right here in the Sunshine State.

Trey Sanders, currently ranked as the top running back in the 2019 class by 247 Sports and the number seven player overall in the class, told the Miami Herald that he is going to be visiting the Seminoles during Memorial Day weekend.

Sanders, a native of Port St. Joe in the panhandle before transferring to IMG Academy near Bradenton, said he wanted to get things set up regarding final exams so that he can enroll early an be ready for spring football wherever he may sign.

Earlier this year, the rival Florida Gators did get his brother to come to the school as a preferred walk on – and while Sanders admits he grew up in a house divided, he is going to make the best choice for him.

"“Dad grew up a Florida State fan, mom grew up a Florida fan and they always butt heads when it comes to football,” Sanders said. “I’m a momma’s boy, so of course I want to make momma happy, but at the end of the day, she knows I have to do what’s best for me.”"

While 247 Sports has the Gators as a favorite, the Seminoles are coming in second place right now  and Sanders has said plenty of good things about FSU football in the past so only time will tell.

One thing is for certain – even if Sanders doesn’t end up in Tallahassee, it isn’t going to be because of a lack of effort from Taggart and his staff.
