FSU football is no longer on the books for former head coach Jimbo Fisher – and now, even those supporting the SEC aren’t in his camp about the new deal.

By now, the FSU football nation has moved on from what took place on the first day of December last year – when the former head coach, who I still do not want to mention unless I have to (like in the sentence above) – abandoned the team for a job with the perennial third place at best team in the SEC West, the Texas A&M Aggies.

What made his deal crazy to those outside of the Seminoles family and proved we weren’t just eating sour grapes was signing a deal with the Aggies for 10 years and $75 million – all of it guaranteed. While no one will ever hate on someone for getting that kind of money, it was the way things went down that have soured J.F. for the time being to many in garnet and gold.

Now, it seems like others are coming around to the way of thinking that this man is not worth the money at this time – and it’s coming from the cult that is the Southeastern Conference. SEC Country examined which coaches are under and overpaid in the conference and delivered a hot take about the former FSU football leader.

"“…throwing this amount at Fisher reeked of desperation, and a number that will be thrown in Fisher’s face if he fails to win big. He has a national championship at Florida State to boost his resume, but, well, you saw that Seminoles team, right? That was one of the most loaded teams talent-wise that college football has seen in some time.”"

I’m just going to leave that one right there for you all to read again…and again…and again.

I mean, this is the conference where teams that finish 2-10 root for Alabama in the national title game because they legit believe that if one team wins a title, they all win one (maybe UCF should join the SEC). This is the mob mentality that has thrown his mindset in the faces of FSU football fans over the year for us to just shake our heads at.

So, for one of their own to bring J.F. and the Aggies back down to earth is nice to see at this point – but don’t worry about them because they have all those great facilities to ease the pain, right?
