FSU Football: Willie Taggart’s ‘The Chase’ is changing the culture

FSU football is going under a culture change and reset with Willie Taggart’s ‘The Chase’.

FSU football has undergone a lot of changes in the last three months or so. There’s a new coaching staff in town.

The coaching staff is younger, more energetic, social media savvy and most of all want to be at Florida State University.

If you’re a regular on social media you’ve probably seen short video clips of this thing called ‘The Chase’. Essentially it’s a version of mat drills, workouts designed to test athletes physically and mentally while building team morale and camaraderie.

It’s a culture reset for this team. A team that was not confident in itself the past few seasons. Players were not playing for one another and coaches were not coaching for one another.

Those are the types of things that allow one of the most talented teams in the country to lose to Boston College 35-3.

Check out the captions of each episode and what did you notice? It was all about team unity, believing in one another, doing what it takes to win and ultimately realizing that FSU football is an elite program.

Instilling in players they have to be special to play at FSU. When a coach says coming to FSU was the best thing to happen to him besides his family?

That’s powerful.

It’s an overall brand reset for the players that endured last season. There’s accountability in the program now and look for the competition between the players to be at an all time high.
