Here’s a preview of FSU basketball and their upcoming week of games scheduled for play during the 2017-18 basketball season.

For the FSU basketball team, 90 percent of the regular season schedule had come to an end entering this week’s schedule – and the Seminoles had a light work load with just one game on the slate against a team they were looking up at in the standings with the conference tournament inching closer for all 15 member teams.

Now, the Noles enter the final week of the season facing two opponents they have already battled once this season – needing two wins and some help if they want to get a higher seed in next week’s tournament in Brooklyn for the second straight season.

Here’s our recap of last week’s action and a preview of this week’s games for the Seminoles.

Last Week Recap

With the chance at getting a double bye in Brooklyn for the second straight season staring them right in the face, the Seminoles decided that it wasn’t really worth it and laid one of their biggest eggs of the season against N.C. State, trailing by as many as 28 points and getting routed 92-72 to pretty much assure them not chance of opening next Thursday.

Trent Forrest game off the bench to lead the Seminoles with 16 points while Braian Angola added 14 points on the night. While the Wolfpack played decent, Florida State beat themselves by missing all 15 three point attempts as well as seven free throws in the game – continuing problems that have plagued them all season.

Opponent Preview

On Wednesday, the Seminoles will travel to Clemson for their final road game of the regular season against the Tigers – a team they beat in overtime on February 14th for a much needed win over a ranked team. Clemson had lost three straight games before blowing out Georgia Tech this past weekend and bring a 21-7 record into this meeting.

Saturday will bring the final home game of the regular season as FSU basketball takes on a Boston College team who gave the Seminoles one of their ugly losses earlier in the season. The Eagles are 16-13 entering the week, having dropped seven of their last 10 games including one last weekend against Miami when they led by 14 points. BC will close out their home slate on Wednesday when they face Syracuse.

Interesting Fact

The Seminoles will have a chance to do something rare against the Tigers as they look to sweep the regular season series for just the fourth time since the ACC’s first expansion back in 2004 (taking both games in 2008-09, 2012-13 and 2016-17.)

This will be just the third time since Boston College joined the ACC that FSU basketball has played the Eagles twice in the regular season, with BC taking both games in 2006-07 and the Seminoles sweeping both in 2009-10.
