FSU football is getting plenty of national love after their success last Wednesday – including from the Worldwide Leader with their updated rankings.

Two months ago, as new FSU football head coach Willie Taggart was finishing his first full week on the job and was on the recruiting trail, there were questions from some about what the 2018 season would hold with the coaching change – wondering which players were staying or going and what recruits would stick with the Seminoles.

Two months later, it is good to be in Tallahassee after Taggart and his assistants brought in a class that went from being close to 70th in the nation at one point to a class that finished a consensus 11th nationally – including several five star players and a whole boat load of four stars who decided to become a part of #Tribe18.

The work done by the new FSU football staff has been commended by almost everyone (well, everyone outside of Coral Gables, Gainesville and College Station, Texas – but who the heck cares about those three places) and has gotten plenty of national attention about what is to come with the Seminoles.

Now, the Worldwide Leader is getting in on the praise – as ESPN.com released their updated Way Too Early Top 25 rankings for the upcoming season and had the Seminoles making the biggest jump of any team when they went four spots up to No. 18.

"After inheriting a recruiting effort that had been neglected by the previous staff, Taggart and his assistants assembled a class that ranked No. 11 nationally, the best of any FBS first-year coach.FSU’s class included two of the top four cornerbacks, Asante Samuel Jr. and A.J. Lytton, No. 4 safety Jaiden Woodbey and No. 5 guard Christian Meadows."

It is very clear that FSU football is finally getting the respect they deserve and that reports of our demise were highly premature. It is also very clear that we have a stock pile of secondary players for years to come with the way this class played out.

The Seminoles will face plenty of other teams who are listed in the early top 25, including top ranked Clemson, No. 8 Miami, No. 15 Virginia Tech in the season opener and No. 21 Notre Dame for a November game.
