As #Tribe18 has come to a close for FSU, we shift our focus to the upcoming class and the top 5 recruitments we should pay attention to.

New FSU football head coach Willie Taggart did a good a job bringing the 2018 class back to life after Jimbo Fisher left the ‘Noles hanging with a class ranked in the 60s nationally a little over two months ago, bringing the the class back into the top 15.

Now, with a whole year to build relationships with players from the 2019 cycle, it will be interesting to see how Taggart can do on the recruiting trail. FSU fans should expect to finish in the top five range with this new staff who is built to recruit.

No. 5 – QB Jayden Daniels, San Bernardino, CA (Cajon High)

Daniels is a four star quarterback from San Bernardino, California.  He was one of the first quarterbacks coach Willie Taggart offered and for a good reason. Daniels could be an absolute stud at the next level. He is very polished for young player, very calm in the pocket and doesn’t get rattled easily.

However, this is not going to be an easy pull the ‘Noles with have to compete with Jayden’s dream school, USC. Not taking a quarterback in 2018 cycle makes FSU one of the most attractive destinations in the nation as a QB –  we will see if Taggart can work his “West Coast Noles” magic.

No. 4 – WR John Dunmore, Fort Lauderdale (Chaminade Madonna Prep)

Dunmore is an elite prospect at the wide receiver position. He recently de-committed from Florida, but a lot people speculate that he will reaffirm his commitment at some point through his recruitment – but I’m not so sure.

While he does not have an offer from Florida State yet, I believe that will change this coming weekend. Dunmore is expected to attend FSU’s junior day, If he’s one of the kids that coach Taggart invited then a scholarship is almost a sure thing coming.

No. 3 – QB Sam Howell, Monroe, NC (Sun Valley)

Howell is another top prospect at the quarterback position for the 2019 cycle. Standing at 6’1″, he is not the tallest guy in the world, but he has an absolute cannon. After watching his tape it’s evident that he would be a perfect fit for the ‘Noles new style of offense.

He does a fantastic job at making things happen when plays break down, sometimes he looks a lot like Baker Mayfield. He is also a guy QB coach/OC Walt Bell is very familiar with having recruited him at Maryland – actually being one of his first Power Five offers.

No. 2 – S Kenyatta Watson II, Loganville, (GA) Grayson

If this name sounds Familiar as an FSU fan, that’s because it is. Watson is a former FSU commit, who de-committed a little after the whole Jimbo Fisher soap opera went down.  At 6’2, 180 lbs., Watson could provide good size to the ‘Noles secondary.

His twitter handle really describes him as a player, he is a ball hawk. If your idol is Jalen Ramsey, why not go to the same school he went to? I’ll keep a big eye on this recruitment to see if Taggart can get him to rejoin to the tribe, I believe that this kid is ‘Nole Blooded and will be at FSU when it is all said and done.

No. 1 – RB Trey Sanders, Port St. Joe (IMG Academy)

Trey Sanders is the number one player on my recruiting board and it is for very good reason. He is an absolute monster on the gridiron the perfect blend of speed, strength, and agility. He recently de-committed from Alabama and Nick Saban, so this earlier there’s no telling where this kid is trending.

Next: Which 2019 Florida recruits can Seminoles land?

Sanders will be getting recruited by just about every power house in the nation, so FSU will need to full-court press to keep him home. Five star running backs and FSU seems like a trend that have gone well with each other the past few years, so lets see if Taggart can keep this trend alive.
