Cam Akers is a special running back. Did you know he broke Dalvin Cook’s freshman rushing record in the game with 1,018 rushing yards. He became just the third FSU running back to rush for 1,000 yards since Warrick Dunn.

Akers was the leading rusher for both teams on the day with 94 yards on 13 carries. He also had one reception for 14 yards that went for a touchdown that can be seen below:

It took Akers more carries to break Cook’s record, but just think, Akers was this productive behind an offense with virtually no consistent passing game most of the year. Also, there are not many players on that offensive line that will play in the NFL.

Did I mention Cook also had Jameis Winston as his quarterback? Cam Akers will likely be one of the best running backs in the country next season without question.
