The FSU football head coaching saga is finally over. Willie Taggart will be the new head football coach at Florida State University.

It seemed like it took weeks instead of a few days, but FSU football finally got their man to replace Jimbo Fisher in former Oregon coach Willie Taggart.

Although the original time line for a decision/announcement was Monday or Tuesday, it seemingly took forever. FSU fans were confident one hour and pessimistic the next.

It’s amazing how the decision of one person can affect so many people, not to mention the Oregon Ducks fan base who now have to deal with their own coaching search.

The second one in as many years.

FSU football is Willie Taggart’s dream job, he’s a Florida native and an ace recruiter who will look to get on the road immediately to gain momentum in the TRIBE18 recruiting class.

FSU fans are excited, relieved, and a host of other adjectives. Check out their reaction.

Thoughts

I can’t remember the last time there was this much excitement around the FSU football program. The fans are pumped, current players are excited and recruits have taken notice.

It’s safe to say recruiting momentum is about to explode as the ‘Noles could easily be back in the top 10 composite rankings with the addition of just four recruits.

They currently have room for about 12-14 recruits in the 2018 recruiting class.

The fact Willie Taggart is bringing his defensive coordinator (Jim Leavitt) from Oregon with him to FSU is an incredible positive as well.
