The college football season is now in full swing, so let’s take a stab at trying to make some money.

We’re back with another addition of Chop Chat’s best college football bets. We finally righted the ship in week 13 and finished in the black with a record of 3-2.

This now puts our overall record at 24-30-6 after 13 weeks. It’s the first week winning week in the last three, but maybe luck’s finally coming back on our side.

Recap

  • Alabama -4 (buy hook) vs. Auburn: I watched Auburn struggle against Clemson earlier in the year…yes Stidham has gotten better..but Alabama’s offense is better than Clemson’s with a just as good defense. Loss, Auburn’s defense made Bama one dimensional and it was a wrap.
  • FSU vs. UF UNDER 44.5: Both offenses are near 100 in S&P and both have decent defenses. Loss, FSU scoring two touchdowns on defense and forcing 4 turnovers almost never happens
  • FSU -3 vs. UF: FSU the better overall team and Florida’s offenses have scored ONE touchdown against Charles Kelly since 2014. Win, Florida’s offense was held to less than 4 ypp and they turned it over four times.
  • Wake Forest vs. Duke UNDER 55-Both teams like to run the ball all games the last three years have all been under this total by quite a bit. Win, yep…the trend continued.
  • UNC +16 vs. NC State: UNC seems to found some offense the last few games and NC State’s defense has regressed from last season. Rivalry game…that’s a lot of points. Win, just as we thought…UNC actually led at halftime but ultimately covered the spread in a loss.

This Week’s Bets

  • Louisiana-Monroe +27 vs. FSU: LM can put up puts and their offense is the type to get Charles Kelly fits at times. Couple that with the uncertainly around the program and probably get a lackluster effort. LM probably scores enough to say without four touchdowns in a loss.
  • Clemson -6.5 vs. Miami: Miami’s offense will be limited by Clemson’s defense and Miami’s defense thrives off turnovers. The only problem is Clemson doesn’t turn the ball over much. Clemson pulls away late.
  • Ohio State vs. Wisconsin UNDER 52: Wisky will try to control the game with the run and has been stout on defense all year. That clock will be running.
  • Oklahoma(-.5)/Clemson(-3) 6.5 point TEASER: Clemson should roll Miami and Oklahoma should be able to take TCU with Baker Mayfield being the best player on that field.
  • Georgia St -6 vs. Idaho: Idaho is God awful and Georgia has the better players.
