Chop Chat College Football 2017 game picks: Week 13
By Jason Parker
Ohio State at Michigan – At the start of the season, some thought this would be a qualifying game for the College Football Playoff. After a late season collapse by the Wolverines, it looks more like a game the Buckeyes will use for their resume as they head into the Big Ten title game next week needing as much help to get back in the playoff talk.
Preseason Pick: Michigan All Pick: Ohio State
Oregon State at Oregon – Full disclosure on this one…I thought about moving it to one of the other slides since the Ducks are going to barely make it to a bowl game and the Beavers might be the worst Power Five team in college football this season. No more words needed on this one.
Preseason Pick: Oregon All Pick: Oregon
Arizona at Arizona State – See, what had happened was…it’s the holidays so you always want to do nice things for your family. My brother in law, David, is a proud Sun Devil grad and I wanted to give his team some love in the final week of the season – they are going to get dog stomped, but at least he got his name in the papers.
Preseason Pick: Arizona State All Pick: Arizona
Northwestern at Illinois – There was a time not all that long ago where the lllini were going to the Rose Bowl and the Sugar Bowl and graduates of the purple and black were focused more on winning the Jeopardy tournament of champions. Now, the men in orange and blue are fighting with Oregon State for that worst Power Five team title.
Preseason Pick: Northwestern All Pick: Northwestern
Washington State at Washington – By virtue of Stanford winning last week, the Huskies will go from playing in the College Football Playoff to not even making the Pac 12 title game this season. If the Cougars win this game, they face USC for the conference title – if they lose, the Cardinal move on. You don’t think the men from Seattle want to have a role in keeping their Apple Cup rivals home?
Preseason Pick: Washington Jason, Kelvin and Kyle’s Pick: Washington Zack’s Pick: Washington State
Notre Dame at Stanford – At the same time their conference title fate will be decided in the state of Washington, the Cardinal will be hosting a Fighting Irish team that has become everyone’s favorite punching bag since getting blown out by Miami two weeks ago. I still think the Cardinal are a one-man team, so if ND controls Bryce Love they win easily.
