Chop Chat College Football 2017 game picks: Week 13
By Jason Parker
Florida State at Florida – For the first time in nearly six decades, both teams face each other with a losing record. The Gators would love to keep the ‘Noles home and end one of college football’s longest bowl and winning season streaks, but right now Florida State is playing better all around football (which isn’t saying much). Randy Shannon is 10-10 all time against FSU as a player or coach at Miami and Florida – enjoy a losing record, coach.
Preseason Pick: Florida State All Pick: Florida State
Louisville at Kentucky – Last season, the Wildcats didn’t wait until basketball season to run this rivalry as they upset the eventual Heisman Trophy winner at home and kept the Cardinals late season woes going. This is not the same Kentucky team from years before – this is a group who can get the job done and win the big game as long as it isn’t against Florida.
Preseason Pick: Louisville Jason and Kelvin’s Pick: Kentucky Kyle and Zack’s Pick: Louisville
Georgia at Georgia Tech – Yes, the Bulldogs are a better team and could still get into the College Football Playoff…and yes, the Yellow Jackets are coming off a bad loss to Duke last week. The stat to know in this one? Tech has won just five of the 25 games played in Atlanta over the last half century in this series, so Dawgs win this one big.
Preseason Pick: Georgia All Pick: Georgia
Clemson at South Carolina – The Gamecocks are an improved team and have looked at points this season like they can hang with the big teams – this will not be one of those times as the Tigers are going to use this as a warm up game for the ACC Championship tilt with Miami a week later.
